William James "Bill" O'Reilly, Jr. (born September 10, 1949) is a prominent American television personality, author, columnist, and political analyst. He gained widespread recognition as the host of *The O'Reilly Factor* on the Fox News Channel, which has consistently been the most viewed cable news program in the United States. O'Reilly's career began in the late 1970s and 1980s, where he served as a reporter for various local TV stations before moving on to prominent roles at CBS News and ABC News.
From 1989 to 1995, he anchored the popular entertainment news show *Inside Edition*, which further solidified his reputation in broadcasting.
