Simon Taylor

Simon Taylor, born on August 8, 1944, is a distinguished actor and writer with a prominent career in motorsport journalism and commentary spanning nearly five decades. Known for his contributions to film and television, he has appeared in notable works such as *Rush* (2013) and *Steve McQueen: The Lost Movie* (2021), as well as providing insights for *ITV - Formula One* (1997).

Taylor's journey in the motorsport world began right after university when he joined *Autosport*, rapidly ascending to the role of editor by the age of 23. His passion for motorsport led him to become a publisher with Haymarket Magazines, where he not only launched successful titles like *What Car?* and *Classic & Sports Car* but also held positions as Managing Director and later Chairman.

For over 20 years, Taylor served as the voice of motor racing on BBC Radio, bringing the excitement of Formula 1 to listeners worldwide. He also contributed to ITV’s F1 coverage, showcasing his expertise in the sport. As an author, he has penned several books that delve into the history of cars and racing.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Simon Taylor is an avid classic car collector and competes in historic motorsport events, racing a 1950 HWM sports-racing car previously owned by the legendary Stirling Moss.
