Oliver Rix
Oliver Rix embarked on his journey into the world of English Literature at Trinity College, Oxford, where he immersed himself in the university's dramatic society. Following his graduation, he earned a scholarship to the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), where he honed his craft over two years. It was here that he caught the attention of Gregory Doran, the Artistic Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), who cast him in the lead role of "Cardenio," a play attributed to Shakespeare. Rix's performance was met with widespread acclaim, with critics praising his "dashing professional debut" and referring to his portrayal as "beguiling." Notable reviews included accolades from Mark Shenton in The Stage and Simon Tavener from WhatsOnStage, both heralding him as a promising talent destined for future accolades.
During his tenure at the RSC, Rix collaborated with renowned playwright Antony Neilson, further showcasing his versatility on stage. His repertoire expanded with roles in productions such as "The City Madam" and "I Am A Camera." More recently, Rix reunited with Neilson for the original play "Narrative," a role crafted specifically for him, which premiered at the Royal Court.
