Alan Gelfant
Alan Gelfant, born on May 21, 1957, in Syracuse, New York, is a multifaceted American film actor known for his extensive contributions to theater, television, and film. With a career spanning several decades, Gelfant has appeared in over 50 stage productions and a variety of television series and films. His notable film credits include leading roles in "Next Stop Wonderland," "The Destiny of Marty Fine," "Men in Scoring Position," "Turn of Faith," and the critically acclaimed documentary "Hero."
In addition to his acting career, Gelfant has made significant strides as a director and playwright. He co-founded the annual Stella Adler Theatre - One Act Play Festival in Los Angeles, showcasing new works and talent. His collaboration with HBO led him to direct and co-write Colin Quinn’s one-man show, "The Seven Sacraments," further demonstrating his versatility in the performing arts.
Gelfant is also deeply engaged in the Upper Valley region of New Hampshire and Vermont, where he has produced, directed, and performed with the Parish Players, notably portraying Eddie Carbone in "A View From The Bridge." Beyond his professional endeavors in acting and directing, he is passionate about education. Currently, he teaches acting, playwriting, and filmmaking at Dartmouth College, where he is involved in the Writing and Rhetoric Program of Cultural Studies, focusing on documentary filmmaking for educational purposes.
