Matthew Elam
Matthew James Elam is a talented American actor hailing from Southern California, known for his work across stage, film, and television. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from DePaul University's Theatre School in Chicago in 2018. During his time there, he showcased his acting prowess in notable productions such as *Native Son*, *Wig Out!*, *Lord of the Flies*, and *Romeo and Juliet*.
Elam's screen career took off in 2018 with a role in the hit series *Chicago P.D.*, and he followed this with a leading part in the digital short *Good Genes* the next year. His stage performance in Dominique Morisseau's *Pipeline* at Chicago's Victory Gardens Theatre garnered significant acclaim, highlighting his talent for portraying complex and rebellious characters.
In 2020, he gained further recognition for his role as Lemuel Cannon, the eldest son of Chris Rock's character in Season 4 of FX's acclaimed anthology series *Fargo*. His portrayal of a young man navigating the challenges of family loyalty and personal ambition was particularly well-received. Elam continued to expand his television repertoire in 2022 with a role in AMC's *61st Street*, and he made his feature film debut as Ray Ray in HBO Max's *The Many Saints of Newark*.
