Reshma Shetty
Reshma Shetty is a talented British-American actress and singer, widely recognized for her pivotal role as Divya Katdare in the USA Network series "Royal Pains," which aired from 2009 to 2016. This role marked her as one of the first leading South Asian female characters on American television. Born on November 2, 1977, in Manchester, England, to Indian parents, Shetty's artistic journey began with a focus on music. She earned a Bachelor of Music in Opera Performance from James Madison University, followed by a Master of Music from the University of Kentucky and an artist diploma from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
Her impressive background in opera led her to transition into musical theater, where she garnered acclaim for her performance as Priya in the national tour of "Bombay Dreams" in 2006. In addition to "Royal Pains," Shetty has showcased her versatility in various television series, including "Pure Genius," "30 Rock," "CSI: Miami," and "Blindspot." She also lent her voice to the character Queen Angella in the animated series "She-Ra and the Princesses of Power." Her film credits include "Steam," "Delivering the Goods," and "Allegiance." Beyond her acting career, Shetty has been a brand ambassador for Dove in India and the Cindy Crawford skincare line. She has been married to actor Deep Katdare since 2011, and they have a daughter, Ariya Eliana, born in 2015.
