Dave Brown
Dave Brown, born on August 24, 1973, is a multi-talented British comedian, designer, and photographer, best known for his contributions to the acclaimed television series and live performances of The Mighty Boosh. In this innovative series, he brought to life the character Bollo the Ape and a variety of other supporting roles, while also showcasing his creative flair through choreographing memorable dance routines.
Hailing from Southend, Essex, Brown's educational journey began at South East Essex College before he pursued graphic design and advertising at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College, where he graduated in 1995. It was during this time that he crossed paths with fellow artist Noel Fielding, who would become a significant collaborator. Both were immersed in the local arts scene, often attending comedy nights that ultimately led to their partnership in The Mighty Boosh.
In 2005, Brown featured in a documentary about The Mighty Boosh, reflecting on the show's humble beginnings at the Hen and Chickens Theatre Bar in London and its evolution to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The series later gained widespread acclaim on BBC Three from 2004 to 2007.
Beyond performance, Brown's artistic contributions include designing the DVD cover for The Mighty Boosh's live tour and box set, as well as compiling The Mighty Book of Boosh, solidifying his role as a key figure in the show's visual identity and publishing endeavors.
