Nadine Ruth Mix (July 13, 1912 - September 21, 1977) was a notable figure in the realm of B-movies and the daughter of famed western film actor Tom Mix. Born in Dewey, Oklahoma, to Tom and Olive Stokes Mix, she embarked on her acting journey in the mid-1920s, aiming to follow in her father's illustrious footsteps.
Throughout the 1930s, Ruth carved a niche for herself in the film industry, appearing in a series of silent films before transitioning into talkies. She starred in twelve westerns, with significant roles in productions such as "The Tonto Kid," "Fighting Pioneers," "Saddle Aces," and "Gunfire," all released in 1935. The following year, she showcased her versatility by featuring in three cliffhanger serials: "The Black Coin," "The Amazing Exploits of the Clutching Hand," and "Custer's Last Stand."
Ruth often took on leading female roles in various B-westerns, sharing the screen with notable actors like Wally Walls and Hoot Gibson. After establishing herself in the film industry, she eventually stepped away from acting to take the lead role in her father's circus and Wild West show, contributing to the family's legacy in entertainment.
