Ben Best

Ben Best was a multi-talented American actor, writer, musician, and producer known for his contributions to comedy. He honed his craft at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, where he forged strong partnerships with fellow creatives Danny McBride, Jody Hill, and David Gordon Green.

Best gained fame as a co-creator of the critically acclaimed HBO series *Eastbound & Down*, which aired for four seasons from 2009 to 2013. Within this series, he showcased his acting skills in the role of Clegg, a local bartender and loyal friend to the protagonist, Kenny.

In addition to *Eastbound & Down*, Best collaborated with McBride and Hill on the indie film *The Foot Fist Way*, a project that has since gained a cult following. He also co-wrote the 2011 fantasy comedy *Your Highness*, featuring stars such as James Franco and Natalie Portman, marking his final collaboration with McBride.
