Dr. Craig O’Connell, widely recognized as TheSharkDoctor, is a marine biologist, shark specialist, and a familiar face on Discovery Channel’s *Shark Week*. He also holds a captain’s license and, alongside his wife, Dr. Nicole O’Connell, co-founded the O’Seas Conservation Foundation (OCF), an organization dedicated to ocean preservation.

Throughout his career, O’Connell has focused on innovative shark research and public education. He is best known for developing the “SharkEye,” a non-invasive device that uses LED lights to deter shark bites without harming marine life—a breakthrough in human-shark conflict mitigation.
