Alan Devine
Alan Devine was born in County Galway in 1970 and has carved out a notable career in both film and theater. He graduated with honors from Trinity College Dublin, where he majored in philosophy and sociology, setting the stage for his artistic pursuits. Throughout his career, Devine has taken on a variety of roles, including a significant part in the acclaimed rural drama Glenroe during the 1990s, where he portrayed Ray O'Driscoll, a character whose actions led him to flee the country after the tragic death of his brother Oliver—a storyline that captivated audiences at the time.
In film, Devine is recognized for his portrayal of the Irish criminal Gerry “The Monk” Hutch in the biographical drama Veronica Guerin. His extensive filmography includes notable appearances in King Arthur, Nora, Ghostwood—where he took on the lead role—The Tudors, and Vikings. Additionally, he showcased his versatility in commercials, most notably as Tom Crean, the renowned Arctic explorer from County Kerry, in a campaign for Guinness.
