Şiir Eloğlu
Şiir Eloğlu, originally from Istanbul, relocated to Cologne at the tender age of four. Her name pays homage to her father, Metin Eloğlu (1927–1985), an accomplished painter and lyricist celebrated for receiving prestigious literary accolades in the 1960s and 1970s.
After completing her high school education in Cologne, Eloğlu pursued a four-year program at the Hochschule für Musik Saar in Saarbrücken. She embarked on her acting career with engagements at various theaters in Erlangen, Oberhausen, and Cologne. In 1991, she made her film debut in Doris Dörrie’s "Happy Birthday, Türke!", where she shared the screen with Ulrike Folkerts. Eloğlu gained widespread recognition from 1993 to 1996 for her portrayal of the young assistant doctor, Dr. Nesrin Ergün, in the RTL series "Stadtklinik."
In late 1997, she moved to Berlin, where she continued to participate in both television and film projects, as well as theater performances, including notable roles at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus in productions like "Antigone" and "Seven Against Thebes." Her first international film venture was the Swiss production "180° – Wenn deine Welt plötzlich Kopf steht," directed by Cihan Inan and notable for its ensemble cast.
Eloğlu also appeared as Leyla Yılmaz in "Almanya - Welcome to Germany," a film that earned the Deutscher Filmpreis. Additionally, from 2014 to 2015, she portrayed architect Suna Kaya in the popular soap opera "Lindenstraße."
