Frank Cavestani, a native of New York City, grew up in a vibrant environment influenced by his father's long tenure at the iconic Copacabana nightclub and his mother's role as a telephone operator. His passion for the arts led him to secure a scholarship at the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Cavestani's professional journey began to flourish as he collaborated with the renowned New York Actors Studio. A significant turning point came when he stepped into the lead role of "Days of the Dancing," a play by director James Bridges, after the original actor, Robert Walker Jr., suffered an injury. This performance marked a notable milestone in his career, showcasing his talent alongside acclaimed actress Shelley Winters.
In addition to his acting pursuits, Cavestani played a pivotal role in establishing the influential weekly publication, The LA Weekly, alongside notable figures such as publisher Jay Levin and actor Michael Douglas. Currently residing in Hollywood, he shares his life with his actress wife, Jade Hykush, and their daughter, Samantha, who is also following in their artistic footsteps.
