Dilber Ay grew up in a tent in Kahramanmaraş, one of eight children in a destitute family. At 13, she was sold into marriage with an older man and soon had children. Her singing brought beatings and torture, yet her God-given voice became her lifeline. Despite prison and endless hardship, she climbed to the top of the stage, never surrendering, always singing her way out of every pit she fell into.
