Belinda Tyler, the determined adopted daughter of Missy, dreams of becoming a doctor in a time when women's aspirations for careers, especially in medicine, are frowned upon. Undeterred, she showcases her skills by assisting the local physician and caring for a stroke victim, successfully helping the woman regain her strength. Meanwhile, Drew, the nephew of a recently deceased neighbor, arrives to prepare the family farm for sale before heading back to his father’s law firm in New York. His unexpected connection with Belinda complicates his plans, as both grapple with their burgeoning feelings amidst their personal ambitions.
