Popeye's nephews stumble upon a downtrodden horse dismissed by a glue factory and take it home, aiming to adopt it as a pet. Against Popeye's wishes, they conceal the animal, even painting a caricature on its rear and dubbing it "the painter." Their antics lead to comical mishaps, including the horse's amusing reaction to horseradish. Ultimately, they stash the horse in a closet, but when Popeye discovers it, he realizes they must keep her. The scene shifts to reveal the horse with her four adorable foals, solidifying their unexpected family dynamic.
