Dr. Maurice Lamar, a celebrated plastic surgeon, transforms the lives of his wealthy clients, including Eve Caron, who leaves her husband, Marcel, to marry him. Their honeymoon on the Mediterranean quickly turns chaotic as Maurice struggles to cope with the pressures of his beauty standards. Overwhelmed, he decides to return to Paris, aiming to abandon his surgical career for scientific research. However, his true desire lies in rekindling his romance with Anne, his down-to-earth secretary, whose uncomplicated charm captivates him far more than superficial beauty ever could.
