Zatoichi, the legendary blind swordsman, revisits his childhood village after many years. There, he reconnects with Omiyo, a childhood friend who shared his wet-nurse, and encounters Shinbei, another old acquaintance turned wealthy, yet seemingly forgetful of their past. While Shinbei claims to be helping the villagers by repaying their debts, he secretly aims to control a lucrative rock quarry. As Zatoichi uncovers the truth behind Shinbei's deceit, he prepares to confront his former friend, who is now backed by a dangerous group of yakuza swordsmen.
