Inocencio Prieto y Calvo learns he has inherited a fortune of two million pesos from his late uncle, but his inability to read leaves him perplexed about its details. Seeking assistance, he visits a drugstore where he plans to have the pharmacist read the letter to him. While waiting, he notices a young girl reading effortlessly and is inspired to take control of his fate. Determined to uncover the letter’s secrets on his own terms, he resolves to save it and enroll in school, embarking on a journey of literacy and self-discovery.
