An American couple takes their 10-year-old daughter, Claire, to her grandfather Lawrence's hotel nestled in the Dolomites, Italy. Although they typically celebrate Christmas there, this year they arrive in August, facing a difficult breakup. When Claire discovers that the family holiday traditions are off, she passionately urges her parents to recreate Christmas in August. Teaming up with her grandfather, Claire orchestrates a series of festive activities aimed at rekindling her parents' relationship and restoring their family bond.
