Set in Fourth Century Japan, the tale chronicles the origins of Shintoism. Ouso, the Emperor's rightful heir, faces treachery from Otomo, a vassal who favors Ouso's stepbrother. Otomo orchestrates a perilous mission, hoping to eliminate Ouso. Against the odds, Ouso triumphs, reemerging as Prince Yamato Takeru. Undeterred, Otomo devises another deadly challenge for the Prince, oblivious to the divine protection that surrounds him.
