Six-year-old Sophie becomes an orphan and is sent to live with her distant aunt, Annabelle, in an imposing Victorian mansion. While exploring the house, Sophie discovers a mysterious locked box adorned with an unusual symbol. In an effort to bond with her niece, Annabelle opens it, revealing an enchanting music box. However, each time it is played, its eerie tune grows longer and begins to impact Sophie's behavior and well-being. Realizing something sinister is at play, Annabelle consults a child psychologist and a clairvoyant, uncovering the malevolent spirit tied to the box. Time is running out as Annabelle races to save Sophie from the impending doom.
