Bluto, the conniving ringmaster, schemes to win over Popeye's assistant, Olive. As the star attraction, Popeye faces a series of challenges, including a stunt where he humorously places his head in a lion's mouth—though Bluto has cunningly placed a steak atop his head. During a daring high-wire performance with a piano and a blindfolded Olive, Bluto's sabotage with a banana peel sends Popeye tumbling into the monkey cage. Just as Bluto thinks he has Olive to himself, Popeye powers up with spinach, ready to reclaim his spotlight and his lady.
