Jamie is caught off guard when he crosses paths with his ex-girlfriend, Emily, at the train station while visiting his hometown for the holidays. To spare his family from the disappointment of their breakup, he persuades Emily to join him in a charade, pretending they are still together. As they navigate the festive season, old feelings resurface amidst the chaos of family traditions.
