Jolena, only eighteen, becomes the target of her stepfather’s unwanted attention. Her mother pretends not to notice, leaving her completely alone. This silent betrayal takes a heavy toll, eventually pushing her into working at a brothel. Yet even there, she struggles to make sense of her own desires. The question lingers: are her fantasies of escape truly any better than the harsh life she’s already living?
