Morris Buttermaker, a washed-up minor league baseball player with a penchant for drinking and trouble, is reluctantly assigned as the coach of a struggling Little League team. With the help of his beleaguered lawyer, he takes charge of a motley crew of young players who lack skill and confidence. Employing his unorthodox coaching methods and quirky team-building activities, Buttermaker transforms the Bears into a competitive squad.
