Popeye and Olive attend a lively variety show, where Popeye is particularly taken by a juggling seal. However, trouble brews when the mischievous magician Bluto sets his sights on Olive. After humiliating Popeye with tricks, Bluto uses hypnosis to lure Olive away. As she wanders off stage and onto a construction site, a frantic Popeye follows, but Bluto’s magic complicates matters, including erecting a brick wall. When Olive regains consciousness and panics, Popeye tosses her a hook that inadvertently sends a piano crashing down. In a final showdown, Popeye chugs spinach as he races to rescue Olive once more.
