Teen snowboarding champ Johnny Kapahala heads back to Oahu, Hawaii, for the wedding of his surf legend grandfather, Johnny Tsunami. Eager to ride the famed Kauai waves, Johnny instead finds himself navigating family dynamics, particularly with his resentful new step-uncle, Chris, who dreams of joining a local mountain boarding crew led by a bully. As Johnny’s grandfather and his new wife launch a surf shop catering to both surfers and mountain boarders, they face a fierce rivalry with a rival shop owner determined to thwart their success. Friendship, family, and competition collide in sunny Hawaii.
