In the early 1900s, Sarah Rector, an African-American girl from Oklahoma Indian Territory, is convinced that her seemingly desolate land hides valuable oil. Her intuition proves correct, attracting the attention of greedy oil tycoons. To protect her newfound wealth, Sarah seeks the support of her family, friends, and a few Texas wildcatters. Through her determination, she secures her rightful ownership, rising to become one of the nation’s first female African-American millionaires at just eleven years old.
