Thaddeus, a mysterious stranger, stumbles into a village gravely injured and is taken in by miner Li Kung and his wife, Ah Ni. As Thaddeus recuperates, he finds himself caught in a fierce battle between the villagers and the malevolent Master Ho, who leads the sinister Beetle Clan along with the fearsome Lord Pi. The stakes rise as Thaddeus must confront his past and join the locals in their struggle for survival against these formidable foes.
