Mavis Arden, a dazzling film star adored by fans globally, enjoys the spotlight during her personal appearance tours. While returning home from one such event, her car unexpectedly breaks down. Distrustful of her publicity manager, whom she suspects orchestrated the mishap to hinder her from a particular suitor, Mavis is nonetheless captivated by a charming local mechanic. As she spends time in town, she becomes intrigued by his inventive ideas for film equipment, leading her to reevaluate her priorities and feelings amidst the glitz of Hollywood.
