Henry Brogan, a seasoned assassin at 51, decides to retire after his 72nd hit. However, his life takes a drastic turn when a shadowy agent begins hunting him down, anticipating his every action. To his shock, Brogan discovers this relentless pursuer is a younger, cloned replica of himself, engineered to outmatch him in every way. Faced with this unexpected and dangerous foe, he must confront not only his own past but also the implications of his own creation as he fights for survival.
