Sir George enlists investigator Hillary Gatt to dig into the background of Eric, who is intent on marrying Lois. Tragically, Gatt is killed during his investigation. Despite the turmoil, Lois and Eric marry and flee to India. There, John Beetham, a longtime friend, grows concerned for Lois as she grapples with the unsettling truth about her husband’s deceitful and alcoholic nature. As secrets unravel, the couple's honeymoon turns into a troubling reality filled with betrayal and disillusionment.
