Warwick Wilson prides himself on being the ideal host, meticulously arranging a dinner party and timing his roast duck to perfection for 8:30 p.m. Meanwhile, John Taylor, a seasoned criminal fresh from a bank heist, is desperate to evade capture. Seeking refuge, he shows up at Warwick's door, pretending to be an acquaintance of a friend who recently arrived in Los Angeles and has fallen victim to a mugging. As their evening unfolds, the tension between the charming host and the desperate intruder escalates in unexpected ways.
