Mikaela, a thriving romance novelist with a streak of romantic failures, annually escapes to a charming bed and breakfast for a Christmas writing retreat in a picturesque lakeside town. There, she crosses paths with the charming writer Levi, who challenges her perspective on love. He encourages Mikaela to stop merely penning romantic tales and instead immerse herself in real-life experiences of love. As the snowy backdrop sets the stage, Mikaela must decide whether to embrace the possibilities that come with opening her heart.
