Tora-san's Promise (1981)

Tora-san arrives back at his family home for an elementary school reunion, but his night takes a turn when he gets intoxicated and offends his former classmates. Humiliated, he sets off on his journey once again. In Kyushu, he encounters an outspoken 18-year-old girl who is captivated by him and starts to trail his adventures. Meanwhile, an old friend, facing a terminal illness, extracts a promise from Tora-san to marry his wife after his passing, adding emotional weight to Tora-san's travels and encounters.
