Earl Pilcher Jr. leads a simple life in Arkansas, managing an equipment rental business and living with his family. Following his mother's death, Earl discovers a shocking truth: he was adopted and has a Black half-brother named Ray in Chicago. Determined to connect, he travels north but is met with a chilly reception from Ray and his son, Virgil. However, Aunt T., his birth mother's sister, encourages the family to embrace Earl, pushing him to forge new bonds and uncover the complexities of his heritage.
