War heroes Rip Murdock and Johnny Drake arrive in Washington, D.C., to be celebrated for their bravery. However, Johnny, overwhelmed by the impending attention, mysteriously jumps from the train and is later found murdered. Rip, convinced that something sinister is afoot, sets out to uncover the truth behind his friend's death. His investigation leads him into a web of deception, where he faces perilous threats and crosses paths with the enigmatic and dangerous Coral Chandler, a femme fatale with her own hidden agenda.
