After the passing of her mother, fashion designer Lisa Rayborn (Natasha Henstridge) returns to her roots at the family farm. Faced with financial struggles, her brother Jim (Harry Hamlin) has shifted their cattle farm to sheep, much to their father's (Lawrence Dane) dismay. To lend a hand, Lisa stays and adopts a border collie from a shelter, naming her Lucky. As they prepare for a sheep herding contest, a fierce storm ignites a forest fire, prompting Lucky to heroically rescue trapped children, but suffers an injury that jeopardizes her chance to compete.
