Centuries of conflict have transformed early colonies into massive empires, claiming billions of lives over the past 57 years. Rick Walker, a disillusioned ex-fighter pilot, is enlisted to escort Cynthia Perkins, a secretive ambassador, to a crucial peace negotiation. As they journey, they are unexpectedly ambushed by hostile fighters, forcing an emergency landing on the distant planet Nydenion.
