Jon Katz is on the verge of collapse as writer's block plagues him and his wife's departure to her sister’s home accentuates his emotional isolation. When an undisciplined border collie, a victim of past abuse, arrives from a kennel, Jon faces a series of challenges. Determined to forge a bond, he rents a rundown farmhouse, providing space for the dog to roam. A local handyman suggests a trainer, pushing Jon to confront his reluctance. The journey unfolds, revealing whether the true obstacle lies with the troubled dog or its equally strained owner.
