Prince Edward and pauper Tom, both born on the same day, lead drastically different lives. When Tom sneaks into the royal garden, he encounters Edward, and the two boys decide to swap clothes for fun. Chaos ensues when guards mistake the disguised prince for a commoner, casting him out of the palace. Their frantic attempts to reveal their true identities go unheard. Meanwhile, the old king's death looms, and Edward is poised to ascend the throne, setting the stage for a tale of mistaken identities and royal intrigue.
