After breaking free from an asylum, a troubled medical student takes on the persona of a deceased stranger who strikingly resembles him. This dangerous ruse leads him to a foreboding island, where he encounters a deranged scientist and a host of grotesque beings. As he navigates this nightmarish landscape, he must confront the chilling realities of his new identity and the sinister forces that govern the island.
