An ex-football player, plagued by alcoholism, spends his days in a haze, unable to confront his true feelings for his deceased teammate, who died under unclear circumstances. His wife, tormented by her longing for his love, struggles to ignite his affection, but he remains emotionally distant. A visit from his ailing father, who is battling cancer, stirs up a flood of memories and truths for both men, forcing them to confront their past and their unspoken struggles.
