Francine “Gidget” Lawrence, now a married woman, navigates the complexities of adult life with her husband, Jeff “Moondoggie” Griffin. Juggling her travel agency and familial tensions, she attempts to organize a reunion for Jeff’s surfing pals. Meanwhile, Jeff, an architect, faces unwelcome flirtations from his alluring boss. Gidget’s teenage niece, eager to embrace her surfing heritage, sneaks out to meet a charming but self-centered beach bum, causing friction with her nerdy boyfriend. As Gidget tackles these challenges, she reflects on the joys and trials of love and friendship amidst the summer sun.
