Grave of the Fireflies (2005)
MOVIE
After Allied bombs destroy her Tokyo home, Hisako flees with her two children to a Kobe suburb, staying with her cousin Kyoko. Her husband is still fighting overseas. When Kobe itself is firebombed, Kyoko dies, leaving Hisako to care for Kyoko’s two children along with her own. With food scarce, she struggles to keep all four fed.
