Chieko, played by Momoe Yamaguchi, grows up as the cherished only child of a dry goods store couple. Her world shifts when, as a middle schooler, she discovers that her parents are not her biological ones. They reveal that she was abducted as a baby while napping beneath a cherry tree in Gion, Kyoto, a story Chieko struggles to accept. Despite this shocking revelation, her bond with her parents remains strong. Confiding only in her childhood friend Shinichi, she navigates her complex emotions and the quest for her true identity.
