Barbara, a discontented writer grappling with her own desires, relocates to a Manhattan apartment to rejuvenate her life while typing manuscripts for other authors. Her new neighbor, a seductive woman, indulges in a range of erotic escapades centered around her mesmerizing vibrator. The situation becomes even more complicated when Barbara’s flirtatious sister, Julie, arrives unexpectedly. Though hesitant due to their troubling past and shared childhood experiences, Barbara reluctantly permits Julie to stay, igniting a tension-filled dynamic that forces her to confront unresolved feelings from their youth.
