Con artist Tom Turner faces a pivotal decision: serve time in prison or spend a year engaging in honest labor. Opting for the latter, he lands a position in the U.S. Post Office's dead letter office. Seizing the opportunity, Tom begins a heartfelt scheme by responding to letters addressed to God, inadvertently sparking a wave of altruism among his colleagues. However, their newfound benevolence draws the ire of the postmaster general and law enforcement, complicating his mission of goodwill. As chaos unfolds, Tom must navigate the consequences of his unorthodox approach to kindness.
