Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads? aired from January 9, 1973, to April 9, 1974, on BBC1, serving as a vibrant sequel to the beloved 1960s sitcom The Likely Lads. Created by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, the show featured 26 episodes across two series, culminating in a special Christmas episode in 1974. The original cast reunited for a BBC Radio 4 adaptation in 1975 and a feature film followed in 1976. However, tensions between stars Rodney Bewes and James Bolam, stemming from a press misunderstanding, led to their estrangement, a situation Bewes later confirmed in 2005.
